Do Whatever He Tells You

Some people find reading the Bible an unpleasant experience. Sometimes the words are difficult and sometimes it just seems like a lot of “do this and do that.” But I am reminded of what Mary, the mother of Jesus, told the servants at the wedding in Cana when the wine ran out. Mary informed Jesus that there was no more wine. (John 2:1) The Bible doesn’t tell us if the persons getting married were relatives or just good friends of Mary. Either way, she did not want them to suffer the embarrassment of running out of wine. The couple knew that the entire town would attend the festivities and should have been prepared, but things happen. Not only did Mary care, but Jesus cared also. Mary said to the servants, “do whatever He tells you.”

Jesus told the servants to fill the waterpots with water and take to the master of the feast. When the master of the feast tasted the wine, he thought it was better than the wine served earlier. In essence, he said to the bridegroom, “you have kept the best for last.”

Imagine how those servants felt being a part of such a miracle. We can be a part of the wonderful work God is doing today if we will do whatever He tells us in His word. Continue to read the word of God and find a Bible Study class to help you better understand the Bible.
