We are blessed to go through seasons in life just as we experience the seasons of the year. Genesis 8:22 says, “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night, Shall not cease.”
To celebrate means to rejoice or to be happy. The seasons are the different periods in our life. Seldom do we embrace and cherish the season in which we find ourselves. When we were in elementary school, we couldn’t wait for high school. When we were in high school, we couldn’t wait to graduate and get a job or go to college. It seems there is always something ahead that we desire to reach. And so, life become this race to be anywhere but the place we currently exist. Unmarried, can’t wait to be married, married can’t wait for kids. When our kids were teenagers, we prayed that those years would pass because we often wondered if we brought the correct baby home from the hospital.
The joy of life is knowing that God is with us through every season. Sometimes His presence is felt stronger in one season than in another, but He is always there. God is there to carry us when the storms of life blow as well as in good times. Through it all we learn to trust and depend on God. We learn that we can depend on God’s word because it never fails. We discover that the God we serve is well able to keep us in the good times and the difficult times. When we are not sure which way to go, He is a compass for our way. When our hearts are broken, He is a heart fixer.
Today I want to encourage each of us to celebrate our season, not just to accept it or acknowledge it, but celebrate it by doing the following:
First, be thankful. Tell God thank you for everything He’s done to this present day. You may be sick right now and in pain, but I encourage to find the strength to say thank you, believing that God is a Healer. Thank God because He is a Deliverer and a Provider. In all things, give thanks.
Secondly, praise Him for what He is doing in your life. Despite all that is going on, He is still providing for you, still protecting, still performing mighty acts, Praise Him for His mighty acts! Finally, let someone else know how good God has been. Encourage someone who may be down, lost or in despair. So many are lost and living in confusion, but Jesus wants them to know He is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through Him. Let them know that the joy of the Lord is your strength. Let them know how good God is to you and that He is no respecter of persons. What He’s done for you He will do for others. His love is everlasting.
